This Turkmen rug was handwoven in Central Asia during the middle of the 20th century by the Tekke people.
This Tekke rug is composed of a repeat design of the classic Tekke major and minor guls on an aubergine ground. The plump guls are closely clustered and well balanced with skirts on both ends. Ivory and surmah accents share the composition with once powerful hot pinks and orange which patinated enough to harmonize with the piece yet still contain a fiery glow.
In very good condition, sides have been reinforced for longevity.
