This vintage Kashan rug was woven during the late 20th century in Central Iran.

It features a scene of the architectural and natural beauty found in the Persian city of Kashan that has been flipped over and reflected in perfect quadrilateral symmetry. It may be depicting Fin Garden - the oldest surviving garden in Iran.  Illustrated with calming blues, greens, and yellows with red outlining on a cream ground.  Fun and unexpected, the rendering has a fantastical mirage-like feel.  

This rug is in perfect condition, with no signs of wear. The pile is low and densely woven, with the original fringe ends still intact.
