This silk and metal-wrapped thread embroidery was woven in China during the early 20th century.
It features two long rectangular field sections of lively butterflies and flowers in blues, pinks, reds and greens. It has a spectacular border of multi-toned flowers on scrolling vines that seem to dance. Frolicking amongstĀ the flowers are red-eyed, green bodied squirrels with metallic thread accents.
