This sofreh kilim was handwoven in South Iran during the middle of the 20th century. A sofreh is a rug used for eating and typically has a square shape. This particular sofreh features a central diamond medallion atop wine field with lovely abrash and vibrating zig-zag borders.White and black provide contrast in the design and Indigo, green, and red complete the color palette. In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age.
