Vibrant and expressive, this Boucherouite rug embodies the joyful spontaneity of Moroccan village weaving. Crafted from recycled textiles, it features two large diamond medallions floating on a coral-pink ground, their layered outlines in blue, charcoal, ivory, and soft yellow creating a lively sense of rhythm and depth. A checkerboard border and flashes of crimson and turquoise add further energy to the composition.
Made by Amazigh (Berber) women using scraps of wool, cotton, and synthetic cloth, Boucherouite rugs transform humble materials into bold, painterly works of art. Their freeform geometry and exuberant color sensibility resonate with mid-century abstraction while remaining deeply rooted in domestic creativity and reuse.
In very good condition, with a thick, shaggy pile and rich texture. A striking and characterful accent piece for any contemporary or eclectic interior.
