This Marmoucha rug was woven in the Middle Atlas mountains during the 20th century.
It features a diamond lattice design in orange, ivory, and blue on a purple ground. Various purples are present shifting from wine to grape soda. The lattice is filled with simple shapes and protection symbols. There is a partial border only to one side. The tufts of pile on the back side suggest the rug was intended to be used "upside down" which would be common for rugs of this age.
In very good condition, with minimal wear. The pile is thick, with a hefty handle.
