This tapestry was handwoven in Peruvian Andes during the 20th century
It features a grid of diagonally repeating squares full of various abstracted shapes and symbols. It is woven in two panels which are sewn together and utilize tones of soft cochineal purples, undyed browns, and greens with pops of yellow. The colors and style suggest it was woven by the talented weavers in the Ayacucho region. Very soft and lightweight, can double as a multifunctional textile or wall tapestry.
