Nicely finished with copper ground skirt borders on top and bottom.

Tabriz Poetry Rug - 6'8 x 9'8

This Tabriz rug was woven during the middle of the 20th century.

It features a classic garden design with a series of framed compartments depicting floral sprays, cypresses and intricate medallions in a palette of soft ivory and cream, paired with muted rose, camel and touches of sage. Between the framed compartments poetry is rendered in nastaliq script that includes "A springtime carpet with boundless purity" and "You would say it is paradise, an eternal garden."
