This Art Deco rug was handwoven in Tientsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This elegant Deco rug features a refined open-field design with delicate floral sprays accenting a lusterous gold field. The softly rendered peonies, lotus blossoms, and leafy tendrils in pastel shades of pink. blue, and green create a graceful. understated compostion. It features peonies, chrysanthemums, fruit blossoms among flowers rendered in greens, yellows, blues in purples. The flowers really pop on the golden ground and in a desirable and uncommon size.
In very good condition with some red discoloration (as pictured). Pile is medium height, soft and plush, with a dense and heavy handle.
