This Bidjar rug was handwoven during the early 20th century (1925-1950).
It features an all-over design of polychrome forms reminiscent of cypress trees in various reds, blues, yellows and pinks on a deep navy ground. Each tree form is filled with a trio of botehs at its center. Framed by a rich red main border that is flanked by energetic turquoise minor borders that pull turquoise accents from the field and invigorate the whole composition.
In very good condition for its age with some areas of wear. With a low, dense pile and a heavy handle.
