This rug was handwoven by Kurds during the first quarter of the quarter of the 20th century.    It features a traditional Kurdish design of diagonal stripes in a rainbow of pastel tones. The seemingly random color placement along wiht the varying thickness and movement of the stripes imbibe the rug with life and movement. Framed by a main border of stepped polygons and triangles on a coral ground with ends that are beautifully embellished with multiple barber pole weft floats.

This sumptuous Deco rug features a detailed naturalistic design of two distinct blossoming branches on a black ground. The eye-catching design features peonies, chrysanthemums, fruit blossoms among flowers rendered in greens, orange, pink, blue and purple. The flowers really pop against the true black ground.

This trapping features an all over design of stepped diamonds in alternating earthy red and deep navy which is tightly rendered to hypnotic effect. macrame fringes that alternate between madder red and indigo. Likely made to hang on the wall or for a pack animal.

This Heriz rug was handwoven in Northwest Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.  It features an allover design of geometric palmettes and large serrated leaves in blues, green, coral, gold, black and ivory on an undulating brick ground. All over designs are less common on Heriz rugs which most often feature large central medallions. The main border is composed of a rosette and outstretched arm palmette border on a surmah ground.
