This Oushak was handwoven during the 19th century in Western Anatolia.  This elegant rug features a simple yet dramatic asymmetric design of curling vines, palmettes and abstracted fantastic creatures. A well spaced large scale field patter with a limited palette of a rich royal red and two tones soft blue framed by a thin border.

This Oushak was handwoven during the 19th century in Western Anatolia.

This elegant rug features a simple yet dramatic asymmetric design of curling vines, palmettes, and abstracted fantastic creatures. A well-spaced large-scale field pattern with a limited palette of a rich royal red and two tones of soft blue framed by a thin border.

In good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is low, handle is soft and loose. The rug was originally much longer but has been shortened in length and properly reinforced.
