This Tabriz was woven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a tight and expertly rendered all-over variant of the Herati pattern that can also be read as interlocking diamonds. In a soft yet wonderful palette of turquoise, burnt orange, coral, ivory, and chocolate on a rare golden ground. The main border features meandering large rosettes each flanked by two serrated leaves on blush ground. The execution of the design, uncommon palette, and scale create an impressive combination that is easy to incorporate into any large room.
In very good condition, some of the edge selvedge has been replaced and both ends have been reinforced for longevity. Some leather binding has been sewn to the underside.
