Mohajeran Sarouk was handwoven in Western Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This extra-large rug features a curvilinear floral design of classic floral sprays on a crimson ground. The floral sprays are well-spaced and quite elegant and are placed amongst trees, vases, and even architectural forms. Plush and well-executed these best-of-type Sarouks are referred to as "Mohajeran". The main border features palmettes inside gold cartouches on a deep navy ground. This classically patterned rug should last for generations to come.
Very good condition, hard wearing with a plush and heft handle.
