This Khamseh rug was handwoven during the turn of the 20th century.
It features a series of interconnected diamonds on deep indigo ground. Various geometric shapes and symbols, signifying birds, trees, and other protection symbols fill in the space of the field. Wide ivory ground borders filled with rosettes and tribal devices beautifully framed the composition and showcase the weaver's masterful sense of balance and proportion. Nicely finished with copper ground skirt borders on top and bottom.
In very good condition for it's age. Pile is low and even, with a supple handle.
