This Heriz rug was handwoven in Northwest Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.

This classic Heriz features a geometric central medallion on a madder red ground. The four cornices mirror the design of the medallion in a different color combination. Dark navy, turquoise, gold, pink, ivory, and two distinctive greens round out the palette. The main border is composed of blossoming palmettes on thick and visually interesting meandering vines. The main border is flanked by minor borders that feature complementary floral meanders. 

In good condition, with visible wear throughout which gives the rug an edgy feel. Structurally sound and all four sides have been reinforced for longevity. Low pile with a sturdy handle.
