This Heriz rug was handwoven during the mid to late 20th century.  This classically designed Heriz features a geometric central medallion on a dark red field with complementary light and dark blues, yellow, pink camels and ivory. A border of alternating floral spray main border frames the prominent central medallion and four ivory ground cornices. A durable rug in a large room size that is great for high-traffic areas.

This Deco rug was handwoven in Tietsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.   This stately deco features a navy ground with a calm mauve border. The design of blossoming branches and potted plants is whimsical and not restrained by the border.  A single lantern hangs near the center of the rendering.

Beshir Turkmen rug handwoven along the Amu Darya river in Central Asia.  It features one large central medallion and four smaller medallions on the top and bottom of this wide and narrow format which is common for type. The medallions sit at an all over design of an abstracted herati variation with wide leaves, rounded rosettes and arrow like forms. various borders of tulips, evil eyes and eight pointed rosettes.

This Ersari Turkmen rug was woven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Northern Afghanistan.  It features a traditional Ersari gül design with a soft palette of orange and indigo on an earthy madder red ground with accents of natural undyed brown and ivory wool. The more skeletal secondary güls are nice complement to the fuller main guls and give the field a more open feel.

This vintage textile was crafted by the Hmong people of Loas.  This textile would have been the bottom row of a traditional Hmong skirt.  Indigo dyed cotton is embellished with ivory, black and yellow cross-stitch and colorful appliquéd patches. The appliqué utilizes various block-print scraps which add alot of energy and interest.

This Kagizman kilim was woven in Eastern Anatolia during the second quarter of the 20th century.  It features a repeat field of crisply rendered latch-hooked devices that alternate with diamond forms in tight formation in patinated reds, blues, ivory, and gold. Small rounded protection symbols fill the sides of the field leaving little empty space. Nicely framed by jagged burr-like devices on an ivory ground.

This Navajo rug was handwoven in the Southwest US during the second quarter of the 20th century.  It features interconnected rosette-like diamonds in black and white on a vast gray field. The gray color is created by mixing different strands of undyed wool. The whole is framed by a thin red border that sawtooths into the gray field.

This trapping was handwoven by Ersari Turkmen around Middle Amu Darya in Central Asia during the 20th Century. The Ersari weavings from this region in this style are often referred to as Beshir. Features ikat-inspired güls in earthy reds, ivory, yellow, and navy. wonderful hanging fringe which alternates between madder red and deep indigo. Likely made to hang on the wall or for use on a pack animal. The top is finished with lovely brocaded embellishment.

This kilim was woven in Egypt during the 20th century.  It depicts a pastoral village scene with flame like vegetation, houses, various animals and two figures. One figure holds a water jug atop their head while the other figure holds the reigns of camel in one hand and a stick in the other. Very full of life with even the houses having the appearance of faces. Woven with carded undyed wool in a palette of browns, grays and ivory.
