This Khotan rug was woven in Northwest China, which is also known as East Turkestan, during the early 20th century.   red pomegranates on a faded grayish purple ground. This Turkish rug is woven in western Anatolia during the second quarter of the 20th Century.  This rug features two stepped diamond devices atop vast rasberry red ground with various half and quarter medallions along the perimeter in purple, orange and yellow. Framed by a main border that alternates between large palmettes and bouquets of smaller 8 pointed rosettes and various minor borders including diagonal stripes, tulips and interlocking combs.

This Bidjar rug was handwoven during the early 20th century (1925-1950) in Northwest Iran.  It features an all-over design of polychrome forms reminiscent of cypress trees in various reds, blues, yellows and pinks on a deep navy ground. Each tree form is filled with a trio of botehs at its center. Framed by a rich red main border that is flanked by energetic turquoise minor borders that pull turquoise accents from the field and invigorate the whole composition.

This Ersari Turkmen style rug was woven during the 21st century in Northern Afghanistan.  It features a simplified pattern of classic Ersari Turkmen guls in black and turqoise on an expansive cream ground. The composition is framed a simple and unreconciled turquoise rams horn meander border.  Woven in Sherbeghan in the same region that the Ersari Turkmen have been weaving a variation of this pattern for at least the last few centuries.
