 A chyrpy is a long robe of embroidered silk that Tekke women wear over the head and shoulders with false, decorative sleeves. These are ceremonial garments to be worn on special occasions.  This chyrpy features abstracted floral forms stitched in yellow, ivory aubergine and red silk on black ground. It is lined with cotton that is blockprinted with boteh and scrolling leaves.

This Deco rug was handwoven in Eastern China during the second quarter of the 20th century.  It features an open indigo field framed by a wide navy border. Flowering vases and branches that start in the border grow freely into the field unrestrained. A flower filled vase with a bird perched on one of its branches can be found near the center of the composition. Various birds and butterflies can also be seen frolicking amongst the flowers

This Kayseri rug was handwoven in Central Turkey during the middle of the 20th century.  It features an elegant allover design of rosettes entangled in waves of scrolling vinework sprays in greens, purples, blues, black, and pink on a sandy ground. wonderful seafoam green ground. The intricate spiraling floral sits on an exceptional green ground that shifts from emerald to jade and may be the best attribute of a very nice rug.

It features the classic Heriz design of a graphic geometric central medallion. The navy medallion is flanked by two lovely teardrop medallions on a terracotta field and surrounded by four ivory cornices. The cornices flow into one other on the top and bottom giving the field an elegant almond shape. Appealing touches of turquoise, coral and caramel add interest. The main border is composed of a reciprocating palmette on a deep navy ground which perfectly frames the composition.

This Ersari Turkmen rug was woven during the first quarter of the 20th century in Northern Afghanistan.  It features a traditional Ersari gül design with a soft palette of turqoise and indigo on a soft and faded brick red ground with accents of natural undyed brown and ivory wool. More skeletal and interconnected secondary gülsfill in the space between the main guls.

This runner was woven by Kurds at the turn of the 20th century.  It features large rows of botehs in pink, purple, blue, ivory and brown on a vibrant orange ground.  In between the botehs various vegetation, people and animals can be found. The whole is framed by two main borders of rosettes that shift in form on chocolate and pistachio grounds. The borders have moments where animals and people can be found between the rosettes.
