This Bakhtiari rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a concentric central medallion with fields chock full of various rosettes, leaves, and other abstracted forms in tones of red, pink, blue, green, ivory, and a spectacular amber yellow that completely steals the show. The cornices feature interesting speckled forms that are likely stylized vegetal forms but almost feel like mythological beasts. Framed by the main border of meandering palmettes on a camel ground and two minor borders of polychrome elongated PAC-man botehs.
In very good condition, with some minimal throughout. All four sides have been reinforced for longevity. Low pile, with a heavy handle.
