This rug was handwoven in Tibet during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a striated field of various blues and ivory accentuated by tiny moments of pinks, oranges, and soft browns. The rug has two subtly distinctive halves but was woven on one loom and may have been created this way to purposely reference classic Tibetan Tsuk-Truk weavings. The otherwise random color usage creates a very organic and pleasing composition that is perfectly framed by a solid blue border.
In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Low pile, with a soft yet heavy handle.
