Four cornices work in the opposing direction and reflect color the exchange found in the center.

It showcases classic Khotan patterning which is a wonderful hybrid of both Central and Eastern Asian design with the East Asian greek-key interior border which blends right into the field and the ivory exterior border similar to those found in Central Asian Turkmen rugs.

This Moroccan-styled rug was woven during the 21st century in Afghanistan. It features an idiosyncratic pattern of diamond lattices. that have the feel of pencil quickly scribbled on paper. A simple palette of soft bluish gray lines which almost appear scribbled upon the shaggy cream ground. Woven of hearty, hand-spun Afghan wool giving it durability and extra heft not commonly found in the Moroccan weaving usually associated with this patterning.
