This Baluch rug was handwoven in Afghanistan during the early 20th century.

The field design is composed of alternating rows of botehs that aligned on the diagonal on a camel ground. The botehs are big and plump in contrasting tones of purples, blues and pinks including an early synthetic hot pink that isn't for Baluch purists but adds some visual interest for the rest of us!  Finished on both ends with original interlocking lightning bolt kilims.

In very good condition with some oxidation to the browns especially in the kilim border. The pile is low, with a soft handle.
