This washed out Kurdish rug was handwoven in Eastern Turkey during the mid-20th century.
Its warm camel field is animated by a playfully wonky interlocking lattice and framed by a border of larger floral medallions in soft ivory and beige. The lattice has the feel of a bent and distorted chain link fence. The delightful irregularity in the design has an endearing quality that speaks to its handmade nature and gives the piece a unique, almost whimsical character. The washed out neutral palette and subtle abrash create a natural warmth, making it a versatile choice for both traditional and contemporary spaces.
