This Pre-Columbian textile panel dates from the Chimu period. The central band features a repeat pattern of confronting figures upon a table or pedestal and surrounded by bird figures. The coloful palette includes pinks and purples derived from cochineal. Very finely woven and well-preserved textile panel.

This Yei rug was woven by Navajo weavers during the second quarter of the 20th century in the Southwest United States. The design of this rug is derived from Navajo sand painting. It features six “Yei” or holy people on a black background. The Yei alternate between orange and white and each is wearing turqoise necklaces and holds sacred eagle feathers.
