This Rabat rug was woven in northwest Morocco during the third quarter of the 20th century.
It features a bright and expansive candy apple red field unadorned except for a turquoise central medallion and rows of small tulips around the perimeter. The main border features abstracted flower bouquets in vases on minty green ground and is flanked by two minor borders. Blacks, blues, green, yellow, and hints of orange add zest and diversity to the whole. Plush medium-length pile - perfect for a room in need of some warmth or a pop of color.
In good condition, even wear with the cotton foundation is showing in some areas.
