This Moroccan rug was woven in the High Atlas mountains of Morocco during the 20th century.
It features a barbed wire lattice diamond design on variegated purple ground. The deep contrast of the variegation gives it an organic striping. The lattice is flanked by evil eyes symbols on either side and the date "1997" is woven into the rug.
In very good condition, with minimal wear. The pile is thick, with a soft handle.
