This Heriz rug was handwoven in Northwest Iran during the second quarter of the 20th century.  It features an allover design of geometric palmettes and large serrated leaves in blues, green, coral, gold, black and ivory on an undulating brick ground. All over designs are less common on Heriz rugs which most often feature large central medallions. The main border is composed of a rosette and outstretched arm palmette border on a surmah ground.

Heriz rug handwoven in Northwest Iran.  Features a geometric central medallion and rich saturated tones . A brick-red field is complemented by the deep navy, french blue, yellow, and coral tones with brown and ivory accents. The four french blue cornices invigorate the rug and a wonderful undulating abrash adds layers to the composition. It is framed by a navy main border of polychrome palmettes. In a desirable size that is more squarish than usual.

This Ersari Turkmen rug was woven in Northern Afghanistan.  It features a traditional Ersari gül design with a with soft palette of orange and indigo on an earthy madder red ground with accents of natural undyed brown and ivory wool. The secondary guls are more skeletal and interconnected by thin weblike lines. Of particular interest are two columns of amulets on either end of the field which add some distinction and serious interest to this usually straightforward design lexicon.

This Ersari Turkmen style rug was woven during the 21st century in Northern Afghanistan.  It features a simplified pattern of classic Ersari Turkmen guls in black and turqoise on an expansive cream ground. The composition is framed a simple and unreconciled turquoise rams horn meander border.  Woven in Sherbeghan in the same region that the Ersari Turkmen have been weaving a variation of this pattern for at least the last few centuries.

This Deco rug was handwoven during the 1930s in Tientsin, China.  It features a soft maroon ground with a calm mauve border. The design is directional and whimsical which is not restrained by the border. Across the bottom are a variety of lively scholar stones, various vegetation and even a small bird. Large palmettes blossom from curving vines around the perimeter and two lanterns hang to the right side of the rendering.Truly a statement piece, this rug will liven up any room.
