Karaman prayer rug, handwoven in the second quarter of the 20th century in Central Anatolia.
Featuring a bright red mihrab (prayer niche) on a camel ground. The largely geometric details are rendered in brown, purple, orange, yellow, and black, with the tricolor selvedge bringing it all together.
A rather dynamic rug, in great condition with little to no wear, despite its age.
