This Veramin rug was woven during the middle of the 20th century.
The main section is soumak woven and features three rows of linked geometric "S" symbols surrounded by a border of 8 pointed stars in navy, red, yellow, white, and green. Intriguingly the rug has a pile woven skirt about half the size of the main soumak.
Hearty soumak with a thick pile skirt in very good condition with some wear to the pile as pictured.
