Vintage Indian quilted blockprint quilt featuring a celebration of indigo. Blue is the main color, with red, black, and white providing details. It uses three different block-printed fabrics, one of which uses writing to great effect, while the other two are geometric designs. The fabrics are cut and pieced together in a diamond design. The design of this East Sumbanese Hinggi Kombu ikat textile is a mirror image of itself, which can be read in both directions and from side to side. The central geometric motif is named habak, a common centre motif for ikats, and was once a symbol of royalty. The other figures are animals like horses and cockatoos, both commonly found animals in Sumbanese weaving.

Late 19th century Indian Amritsar rug featuring an elegant all-over design of palmettes, detailed blossoming vines, and groupings of curled leaves on a rich crimson ground. The crimson tone utilizes lac which is a dye derived from insects and characteristic of Northern India weaving from both Amritsar and Agra. With accents of gold, wheat, ivory, and pink. The whole is framed by a spectacular turquoise with a wonderful, undulating abrash that even has some moments of soft purple.

The whimsical borders add to the wonderful chaos as they completely shift from large floral symbols to rosettes and eventually to triangles in different sections.
