This Suzani was handmade in Uzbekistan and dates from 1975.
The central medallion features a peacock in all its splendor, embroidered in hot pink, faded green, bright yellow, and purple. A circle of smaller medallions in alternating colors frames the peacock. Larger medallions complete the concentric design. Grape vines are embroidered on either side. There are drawn markings visible where the design was left unfinished in places, highlighting the human hand. The date "1975" is embroidered in hot pink below the central medallion.
In very good condition, signs of wear are consistent with age. There is minimal pink color run, a section of fringe missing on the bottom right corner, some light staining, and a few tiny holes (all pictured).
