Art Deco rug, handwoven in Tientsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This Deco rug features a sparse and delicate floral design on an immense coral field. The design is open and borderless with a variety of flowers growing on vines as well as out of vases. The accenting palette is composed of greens, pinks, browns, and golden yellows.
In good condition, some old moth damage and areas of wear expose the cotton foundation below. The color has faded differently with some areas having a more yellow cast (as pictured). Pile is medium height, with a dense and heavy handle.
