Chinese Fa-ti rug handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century.
This minimalist rug is composed of an ivory field with a peachy tint, and medallions in all shades of blues. The central medallion features a gazebo and tree design, with the smaller medallions featuring a similar design. The border is composed of a floral meander on a dark blue ground. The blossoms in the design are a mix of peach blossoms, chrysanthemums, and peonies, common flowers used in Chinese imagery. The color palette is limited to myriad shades of indigo blue, and soft peachy ivories.
In fair condition, with some wear throughout, consistent with age. Low pile, with a light handle.
