This Khotan rug was woven in Northwest China, which is also known as East Turkestan, during the early 20th century.   red pomegranates on a faded grayish purple ground.  It showcases classic Khotan patterning which is a wonderful hybrid of both Central and Eastern Asian design with the East Asian greek-key interior border which blends right into the field and the ivory exterior border similar to those found in Central Asian Turkmen rugs.

This rug features an all-over design of interconnected vines with blossoming red pomegranates on a faded grayish-purple ground.  It showcases classic Khotan patterning which is a wonderful hybrid of both Central and Eastern Asian design with the East Asian Greek-key interior border which blends right into the field and the ivory exterior border similar to those found in Central Asian Turkmen rugs. 

In Very Good condition. The pile is evenly worn and low but with a sturdy handle.
