A dazzling mosaic of color and pattern, this Bakhtiari garden carpet embodies one of the most celebrated designs in Bakhtiari weaving. The field is laid out in a grid of rectangular compartments, each filled with distinctive vignettes of stylized floral sprays, trees of life, geometric abstractions, and architectural motifs. The diversity within each panel creates a captivating patchwork, at once orderly and exuberant. Lively tones of coral, madder red, indigo, sky blue, ivory, and soft green animate the design, balanced by a rich midnight ground. The deep indigo border frames the composition with rosettes and meandering vines, providing a rhythmic counterpoint to the structured geometry of the interior. The combination of fine wool, crisp drawing, and a joyful palette testifies to the technical mastery and creative vitality of Bakhtiari weaving traditions in the late 19th to early 20th century.
