This Malayer rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century.

This stunning rug features an ornate central medallion and cornices on herati patterned field. The design is primarily rendered in blues, reds, ivory, and brown but a variety of accents in soft yellow, purple, green and an impactful orange add nice depth. Three prominent borders are composed of distinctive floral meanders, from geometric to naturalistic.  

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. The pile is low, with a hefty handle. The original kilim end is intact.
