Kurdish rug handwoven in NW Persia during the fourth quarter of the 19th century.
This multicolor rug features an allover diamond design of stacked diamonds. The grounding tone of the design is faded aubergine, with beautiful blues, reds, oranges, and yellows adding pops of color and joy. The white minor border has a floral meander that juxtaposes nicely with the geometric design.
In good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. Pile is low, with a soft handle. Edges have been reinforced for longevity.
