This rug was handwoven in Morocco during the mid-20th century. It features a minimal design paired with a bold color palette. A bright red field contains a central medallion with indigo blue with smaller shapes and animals (spot the camels and pheasants) completing the design. Oranges, yellows, and ivories are used for the details. A stunning purple is used sparingly and effectively to add visual interest to an already stunning piece.
Pile is low and densely woven, with a sturdy handle. Perfect condition, signs of wear consistent with age.
