This Malayer rug was handwoven during the second quarter of the 20th century.
This stunning rug features a small focal green rosette in the center of a kaleidoscopic design or abstracted vines, leaves, and floral forms. Exceptional tones of blue, green, yellow, red coral, and chocolate really pop on the midnight blue ground. Nicely framed by one main and two minor borders composed of floral meanders, the former more geometric and the latter more naturalistic.
In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age. The pile is meaty with a hefty handle.
