This Navajo rug was handwoven in the southwest United States during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a series of concentric diamonds in dark brown and ivory on a mottled gray background. The grey background was achieved by spinning different colors of undyed wool together. In each area where the color changes are serrated edges which give the whole composition a blurred eye-dazzling effect. Simple brown and ivory sawtooth borders frame the simple and elegant jagged diamond motif.
In very good condition, some minor restoration has been completed professionally, and flows well with the original weaving. Flatwoven, with a soft handle.
