Persian Malayer Rug, perfect condition with blue diamond allover pattern, beautiful indigo blue abrash throughout

Highly Decorative Malayer - 6'8 x 9'10

Regular price $7,500.00 Sale

This Malayer rug was handwoven during the first quarter of the 20th century.

This rug is in a league of its own showcasing a stunning combination of indigo, icey blues, soft pinks, golds, orangey reds, and light accents of greens and a vibrant purple. The design showcases diagonal rows of perfectly disproportionate diamonds which are filled with snowflake-like rosettes and are slightly askew. The spaces near the edge of the field are reconciled with trees, people, and botehs. The gold main border is comprised of thin serrated leaves and blooming rosettes and framed by two gold minor borders of scrolling blossoms. It features a lovely abrash throughout which is most prominent in the top quadrant.

In excellent condition, signs of wear consistent with age. The pile is low, with a hefty handle.
