Shiraz rug was handwoven in South Iran during the third quarter of the 20th century.
This Shiraz rug features two columns of latch-hooked diamonds surrounded by animals on a maroon ground. The animals are large, detailed, and diverse including deer, falcons, and partridges. Framed by an ivory main border in a style more often found in older Qashqai rugs from the region. In good condition with some light color run. Medium pile with a thick, heavy handle.
