This Tulu rug was woven in Anatolia during the middle of the 20th century.
It features an abstracted geometric medallion in dark brown, stark white, and touches of blue and green on a lush field of undyed brown Angora wool. The central medallion is flanked by what seems to be randomly placed white devices and is reminiscent of a face but it is unclear if that was the intention.
In excellent condition, with a shaggy and silky pile. A celebration of exceptional wool, it is beautiful on the floor or hung on the wall.
