This Heriz rug was handwoven during the second quarter if the 20tb century.
It features an allover field filled with branching angular motifs, stylized palmettes, stepped forms, and curling leaves radiating around a compact medallion. The palette is warm and vibrant, anchored by a rich madder-red ground accented with deep indigo, sky blue, saffron and ivory. The contrast between the crisp drawing and saturated dyes gives the rug a powerful architectural presence without feeling heavy. A beautifully drawn border frames the composition with balance and refinement.
Woven with the sturdy, resilient wool Heriz rugs are known for, the piece has an excellent handle and strong durability. In very good condition with some areas of wear to the field.
