Antique Afghan Maimane kilim composed of a stepped-diamond pattern in light and dark blues, reds, browns, ivory, yellow, and orange. Multiple times the diamond pattern breaks and reforms into different variations of itself. Zig-zag sections reminiscent of lightning bolts add some electricity to each end and the whole is framed by a perimeter of reciprocating brown and white and brown triangles. The whole is finished with simple striped skirt kilim on either end.

This Maimana kilim was woven in northern Afghanistan during the second quarter of the 20th century. 

It is composed of a stepped-diamond pattern in light and dark blues, reds, browns, ivory, yellow, and orange. Multiple times the diamond pattern breaks and reforms into different variations of itself. Zig-zag sections reminiscent of lightning bolts add some electricity to each end and the whole is framed by a perimeter of reciprocating brown and white and brown triangles. The whole is finished with simple striped skirt kilim on either end.

In very good condition, signs of wear consistent with age, with original skirt-border ends. Flatwoven, with a sturdy handle. Excellent rug for high traffic areas.
