This trapping was handwoven by Ersari Turkmen in middle Amu Darya region of Central Asia during the 20th Century.
This trapping features an all-over design of stepped diamonds in alternating earthy red and deep navy which is tightly rendered to a hypnotic effect. It is framed by a main border alternating "X" motifs and "S" minor borders. Wonderfully finishing with macrame fringes that alternate between madder red and indigo. Likely made to hang on the wall or for a pack animal. The top is finished with lovely brocaded embellishment.
In good condition. Full medium pile with some damage to the original fringes and a sturdy handle.
