Art Deco rug, handwoven in Tientsin, China during the second quarter of the 20th century.
It features a hard to come by true black field and equally uncommon oval shape. Its unadorned center is surrounded by an oval ring of various multicolored blossoms.

In good condition, with some areas where the cotton foundation is visible. Pile is thickly woven and medium height, with a sturdy handle.
