This Hadji Jalili Hunting Tabriz features a classic hunting motif against a backdrop of scrolling arabesques on a desirable burnt orange ground that is highly characteristic of Hadji Jalili weaving. The arabesque grows from central palmettes sprouting leaves and floral forms while providing a lush landscape for various animals to frolic. The animals are rendered in pairs with the most prominent showcasing lions hunting deer near the bottom.

This Sultanabad was handwoven in Western Iran during the early 20th century.   It features a central medallion that floats on an open and expansive golden camel ground. The field is bare other than the medallion and four cornices each mimicking a mirorred quadrant of the medallion. Framed by a main border of scrolling vegetation in pink, green, ivory and gold on an icy blue ground.  Well-balanced with a desirable palette in a hard to come by size.

This pictorial; rug was handwoven in China during the second quarter of the 20th century.   It features a rendering of the Eight Immortals sitting atop cloudbands and amongst vegetation. These famous figures are signs of prosperity and longevity and can be represented in many different manners and often including deities or attendants as seen here. The Each immortal holds an object to identify themselves such as a flute (Han Xiangzi) or a lotus flower (He Xiangu).

Antique Bengal Kantha featuring a wild and asymmetrical scene with a small off-center mandala. It is full of various motifs from fish, horses, elephants, and people. The people can be seen in pairs stacked on top of one another, riding a horse and an elephant as well as inside a Vimana or flying palace.
