This Bezalel rug was handwoven in Israel during the late 20th century. 

It features a tree of life design rendered here as a Palm tree with other vines and animals around it that include grapes and pomegranates, multiple types of birds, goats, foxes, and butterflies. Framed by a border of alternating peacocks flanking vases. "Songs of Songs" is written in Hebrew near the bottom of the rug. "Song of Songs" s an erotic poem in the Hebrew Bible that is interpreted as an allegory that is traditionally read during Passover. Bezalel is a Jewish arts and crafts academy located in Jerusalem.

In very good condition, some discoloration on the fringe.  Pile is soft and plush.
