This ikat was handmade on the island of Sumba in Indonesia during the middle of the 20th century.

Ikat is a warp-resist dyeing technique similar to "tie-dyeing". It features a palette of ivory, soft pinks, yellow, and rich indigo blue. A variety of symbols are found on the cloth including various figures and animals most prominently people riding horses.

In good condition with some holes and light staining (as pictured)
